March 2008 - Silvermaker release their debut album in the States
The recently re-mastered and vamped up Silvermaker album ‘Only The Best’ is due for a US release this month! Following a licencing deal between Silvermaker’s own label, Thumping Lizard Records, and rock label Renaissance Records, the band are set to win some more fans from across the Atlantic.
Febuary 2008 - Nokia N-Gage's "Extreme Gaming Club" use 4 Silvermaker songs for viral advertising campaign.
Nokia start their Extreme Gaming Club, where 2 stunt men are playing the Nokia N81, while doing extreme sports, indoor skydiving, rally driving & aerobatic flying. Perfectly complimenting the extreme sports, Silvermaker's tunes inject the right high energy vibe. Check out the first video here:
January 2008 Silvermaker feature on the Boardmasters DVD for a second time
It seems the windsurfers can’t get enough of Silvermaker’s infectious tracks, and this month the second edition of Boardmasters is out with another 2 tracks of the band featuring on it. Only the Best and Hedonistic days made the tracklist this time.
September 2007 All healed up!
This month Annelies went under the knife to remove her vocal chord cyst. After a successful operation, she got the thumbs up from her specialist surgeon and should be ready in the new year to become a lady of rock once again!
August 2007 Annelies presents the Newquay Boardmasters on The Extreme Sports Channel
Straight from the stage to the camera… After a successful audition in the Extreme tent on Brighton Beach, UK in May, Annelies was invited to co-host the Newquay Boardmasters 2007. Thrown in at the deep end she imediately shot the show’s links during the first sunset of the week, followed by impromptu interviews, and many, many afterparties. Well, after 4 years of rocking national and international stages, late nights, beery afterparties and general mayhem, something’s got to give. Annelies has been diagnosed with a vocal cyst. Nothing major, but major enough to need an operation and some vocal-chord soothing rest. An operation is scheduled for September, and until then, the band are heading to Newquay for some surfing and soul-searching. Sometimes when you ‘take it to the edge and past it’, you kind of need a rest afterwards.

This month Silvermaker's Ben and Annelies performed live for a second time and acoustically on BBC Southern Counties as part of their Fringe Festival programme. They played 3 new songs and you can listen to Roof Top 'Live' here

Silvermaker VS Steve Mac version of Give It A Little More Love
Remixer/DJ Steve Mac, AKA (formerly) one half of the Rhythm Masters is currently working on a dance remix of ‘Give it A Little More Love’ The track will be released on his own label and spread all over the world as he travels to DJ in exotic locations.

Silvermaker get into fashion with Loop Kite Clothing
This month each member of Silvermaker will be designing 1 or a few items of clothing for the 2007 summer range of Loop Kite Clothing. They will model the 'Silvermaker range' on the Loop website from where the clothes will be available to buy and headline a launch party next year.
More DVDs use Silvermaker tracks

Following the release of the OTC windsurf centre trailer, word has spread in the windsurf community and the band has been contacted again by several people for the use of their music in DVDs. Windsurf pro Guy Crib will be featuring Rock Star for his instrucional DVD and several tracks will also be appearing on the international Boardseeker DVD and Turbulence trailers.

It's finally out, the first 12-track album jam-packed full of Silvermaker goodness released on Silvermaker's own label Thumping Lizard Records. Silvermaker go Extreme
Silvermaker's riff-fueled, energetic tracks have turned heads at The Extreme Channel headquarters and will soon help make up the soundtracks for their high-action footage. Devout kitesurfers, windsurfers, snowboarders and surfers, Silvermaker have been rocking the extreme sports festivals and competitions since their appearance at the Isle of Wight Moto Cross GP last summer, where they played to over 3000 up-for-it 'Petrol Heads'. The channel have also requested a licence to play Silvermaker's video for 'Only The Best', which will guarantee them major TV exposure.
Silvermaker headline Kite Jam in Llandudno North Wales
Their short but rocking set left the kitesurfers at the Kite Jam party shouting for more. The night went on at the campsite where Silvermaker provided more entertainment with an inpromptu acoustic set well into the night, with free beer and champagne galore!
Rayafilms and The OTC in Tenerife use Silvermaker tracks for their film
Silvermaker tunes make up the soundtrack for a film promoting the Official Test Centre (OTC) - a windsurf centre in windy Tenerife. The film, produced by Rayafilms, is 16min long and features 7 Silvermaker tracks, which complement the windsurfing footage in the film perfectly. Yellowave Beach Sports use silvermaker for their promo film

The trailer, made by Diveout, promotes Yellowave Beach Sports and makes use of the energetic track 'Only The Best'. It features the British Beach Volleyball Championships sponsored by The Sun Newspaper. The film can be viewed at:


Rock Star's on Juice FM
The Damo and Ace Show on Brighton's local station Juice FM is hosted by Damo from The Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM) and Ace, former Skunk Anansie guitarist. The two DJs have been heavily featuring Silvermaker's Rock Star this month. They have announced they will play more of the band in the future too. The band have been asked to come into the Juice FM studio for an interview which will happen in Septmeber.
Silvermaker sell out the Beach Club, 450 capacity
Kite Nite Midsummer was the eagerly anticipated follow-up to the first Kite Nite in March, organized by Silvermaker. Due to popular demand, the band moved the night to the much larger Beach Club, former home to Fatboy Slims's legendary Big Beat Boutique night. This time the bigger club saw around 450 people through the door and with free bubbly at the start of the evening, extreme footage over three big screens and DJ action, the scene was set for Silvermaker to come out and rock the crowd. And thats exaclty what they did. With everyone begging for more, DJ Naughty Boy (Phat Beach) wipped up some magic on the wheels of steel to keep the vibe pumping. Thanks to donations from local sponsors, the raffle raised £260 again for the RNLI, and everyone many went home with sporting goodies. This will be done again... Silvermaker grace the cover of The Brighton Source
In July photographer Toby Amies excercised his persuasive skills on the band and got them all up to their necks in the cold sea one fine evening at 10pm. Crotches were cold, but the shots came out great. In August fifteen-thousand copies of the magazine were spread all around Brighton's pubs and clubs, firmly putting Silvermaker's mark on their hometown Brighton. The Source themselves claim the Silvermaker cover is amongst their favorites so far. Read the interview inside here..
Silvermaker headline the Paddle Around The Pier Party
This is where a few thousand people travel to Brighton and grab their nearest surfboard, windsurf-board, Canoe, Kayak, bodyboard, Kitesurf-board, swim fins and Lilos'- to raise some money for some seriously good causes and have some fun. After a vigorous paddle, a few hundred beer-hungry surfers entered the Beach Club and found themselves thoroughly entertained by Silvermaker. There was crowdsurfing, there was breakdancing, albums were sold. The band were approached by local mag Extreme Brighton who quoted them to be " of the slickest, most adrenalin-infused bands we've seen all year. Sign them quick while you've got a chance."
Bug Jam rocked by Silvermaker
VW enthusiasts from accross the nation flock to Bug Jam at the Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire in their thousands (30,000 to be more precise), and this year was no exception. Silvermaker rocked the Fuelers Stage, captivating the audience of a few hundred. With the front rows singing along to their infectious tunes, it seems that Silvermaker are ideally suited to the festival circuit.
Silvermaker get invited to the O'neill Surf Academy
In July the band was lucky enough to get free lessons at the O'Neill Academy at Watergate Bay, Newquay through X-Elements magazine. The article with a full report of the trip will be in the August issue of the mag. In short, the band did great, with Max and Nic surfing for the first time and looking like pro's-to-be at the end of the day. Read all about it here
Silvermaker go down a storm in Newquay
Silvermaker also performed in a packed-out Belushi's to 300 rock-hungry people. They provided the night's entertainment with a rarely heard mixture of old and new, acoustic and full-band songs. Following their performance the band were contacted by South-West promoters for bigger festivals next year.
O2 Wireless ITV London Tonight competition

Silvermaker made it into the final 2 for the chance to play at the O2 Wireless Festival at Hyde Park alongside The Strokes, David Gray, KT Tunstall, Massive Attack, James Blunt and Depeche Mode to name a few. A clip of their video for Only The Best was shown twice on ITV London (Friday 16th) and a public phone/text vote was cast to decide the winner. Unfortunately they were pipped at the post by the other band, but the Belgian press got wind of this and got in contact... read on.

Annelies does 2 live interviews on Belgian national radio breakfast shows

Following the article in the Gazet Van Antwerpen, Annelies was interviewed the next morning live on Studio Brussels (a rockier version of UK's Radio 1 and the number one youth station in Belgium) by Peter Van de Veire (the equivalent of the UK's Chris Moyles), and the next day again on the Belgian Radio 2's breakfast show.

Both stations are now considering putting the band on their playlists.

It's not every day a singer hailing from Belgium gets played on ITV, so a full page article complete with colour pics appeared in one of the largest newspapers in Belgium about the recent successes of the band, and introducing Silvermaker to Belgian music-lovers. See it here
Silvermaker rock on their doorstep at the Adur Festival in Shoreham
On home soil and only a stones-throw away from their local kitesurf beach, Silvermaker supported McQueen (Deconstruction Records), in the 500 capacity marquee at the Ardur festival in Shoreham.
New music video for Only The Best ready to view!

On April 1st Silvermaker decended into the Fringe Basement by the Argus lofts to shoot a music video for Only The Best. In the capable hands of art director Phil Sansom (Maximo Park, Starsailor), cameraman Will Bex and make-up guru Gemma Wheatcroft (Juliette Lewis, Danii Minogue) they embarked on a 13-hour stint of rock-poses. It’s alive and kicking, writhing and gyrating, full-on rock ‘n roll action and you can see it here.

Silvermaker live on BBC Southern Counties

Following a rocking set at The Albert Sessions on March 27th, Silvermaker were invited into the BBC Southern Counties studio to record a live session on the 28th of May between 7 and 8pm, which was broadcast to thousands of listeners accross the South.

Big Bang
In April Silvermaker embarked on a journey up to Northamptonshire and took the stage next to the drag-strip at Santapod Raceway. The band immediately got asked to play at the nationally renound Bug Jam later that year.

Silvermaker's kitesurfing themed club night is ramed
With a kitesurfing theme and organaised by Silvermaker, the first Kite Nite party ‘took off’ with a bang on Friday March 24th at the Gap Club in Hove, already referred to as a ‘proper little sesh den’. The club was full from 9-2, there was free champers, a set from Silvermaker, a prize draw with a dance-off/strip, and some world-class breakdancing at the end...the bar was drunk dry. Check out pics.
Silvermaker South Live winners on BBC Southern Counties

Silvermaker put forward 'Only The Best' to battle it out with 2 other bands, and the judges loved it. They were: Juliette Wills - music journalist who has reviewed singles for the Guardian Guide and interviewed Pink and Kelis for Q magazine; Al Scott - full time record producer, hits with rap house folk and rock, working with Asian Dub Foundation and The Levellers; and Trevor Madison - Production and Promotions co-ordinator at Concorde2. They dished out two 9/10's and one 7/10, resulting in the highest total score to this date for a South Live demo...not bad. Go to the press section to hear it all again.

Isle of Wight Moto Cross Grand Prix a success

On Saturday August 27th Silvermaker took the stage at the Isle of Wight Moto Cross Grand Prix, in between Electric Soft Parade and The Lovegods. With an audience of 3000, this was their biggest gig yet, and it rocked. The audience were great, jumping around like monkeys and singing along to Come On, with one particularly talented poet spontaniously changing the lyrics to 'come on my face'. BMG Zomba Production Music offer Silvermaker a publishing deal

Following a large demo mailout, Silvermaker were invited into the BMG Zomba office to discuss a publishing deal for one of their songs. The band came out of the meeting with an offer for 3 of their songs, intended for use on TV and Film productions such as The OC. Silvermaker decided the deal wasn't quite what they were after as they are looking for a full publishing deal, but it was a very difficult decision.

Come On selected for computer game Trackmania – Sunrise
Come On was selected for the PC CDROM racing game Trackmania Sunrise. The game was released in the UK on April 8th. Following this, it was also be released in North America, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Scandinavia, Russia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland and China.
